On looking stupid.

So I had to go through my own little mourning/acceptance period, and I did.

I was also having just a rough old week with the hip that week, and a lot going on with the kids and socially, so forgive the silence. I think, in retrospect, that a lot of my pain was due to not being able to practice yoga, due to the boobs, and, me not being very bright, I kindov forgot about that.

I cannot even tell you how wonderful my return to the mat was on my 6 week post surgery anniversary! I have been practicing with regularity again, and the difference in my pain level is astounding.

I've also decided to shake things up a little, literally. My routine has gotten a little boring, and so I'm going to branch out! My gym offers a TON of fun dance classes, and I'm heading into them! Everything from hip hop to zumba to dance party, and I'm going to give them a try. I can't dance to save my life, but they look like killer cardio workouts and just a ton of fun, and I figure that learning something radically new will be a great way to keep my mind off of what I can't do! And if grannies are in there having a go and not caring what they look like, why on earth can't I?

I can't run. But I CAN swim, spin, do stairs, do elliptical, do yoga, do pilates, do tai chi, lift, do lean conditioning, do core workouts, do water classes..........and I can dance, baby! This promises to be entertaining, and probably frustrating at first, but life is short, right?

Happy Halloween, all. There are three thousand pounds of candy downstairs in my house right now. I need to find a place to donate it, quickly!!

  1. I'm glad you got back to yoga, and enjoyed the dance class! I've been thinking that it would be a good for me to try yoga, as I need some serious calming in my life, so I looked at the classes at my gym. I am so annoyed. They are at the worst possible times if you have young kids. 8am. 12:30pm. 8:30pm. WTF? Where is the 9am or 10am class?
