Discipline.

Last week was all about getting my house ~ both my literal and my proverbial house ~ together.

This week is all about discipline. Nate is away all week, which makes my plan all the easier, as I only have the kids and I to care for. These are my goals:

I will do my PT work every.day.
I will get on my foam roller as instructed by my PT every.day.
I will meditate every.day.
I will be in bed by 9:30 every.night.
I will drink 8-10 glasses of water every.day.

Tomorrow morning I have PT at 9, then will swim laps afterwards before taking the kids to the pool with some girlfriends.

Tuesday I will go to yoga and do some ab work, then the kids will go to the pool in the afternoon with Brooke while I take Luke on our special back to school lunch date/shopping trip, then meditate and do some house work.

Wednesday I will swim laps again, in the evening, as I am taking the kids to Rich's football camp in the morning with Becca.

Thursday is a rest day, I have PT in the morning, then take the kids to the park to meet a friend for a picnic lunch. Brooke can take them to the pool in the afternoon while I have Dr's appointments and run errands.

Friday I have lean conditioning, my new favorite class as it is like PT for me.

Saturday I will rest, and Sunday I will spin.

This is back to my original plan, or close to it, two swims, two yogas, and spin.

I did spin today, and it was great. I forget that I am injured when I am on the bike, and to be honest its a little disheartening to get off and limp over to the door. I know that my limp is getting better, know it, but man is this a long process. 9 weeks tomorrow since surgery. At this point, this injury is going to officially define my entire summer, and probably most of my fall. I'm trying to not be disheartened by that fact.

  1. I am sure it seems like forever to you (and 9 weeks with varying degrees of pain and immobility is nothing to scoff at), but you seem to be doing amazing at this point to me. I mean, you broke your hip. It's bionic. And yet you are doing yoga, swimming, taking care of kids. At only 9 weeks. More than a good portion of non-injured people manage. Maybe not 100% "Melissa Level"...but pretty damn impressive, none the less.
