Navel Gazing
Radio silence over here.
I came across some "yoga blogs" that blew my mind, in a bad way. I needed some time to think about why I'm even here typing these little thoughts in this little space in my little corner of the internet. Is it the worst sort of egoism?
Still not sure. In the meantime I'm still enjoying this quiet time, this cold time, this time of darkness that is a brutal yet beautiful winter here in PA. There is harmony in the house, and right now that is enough.
It has to be.

Hmm, I think some introspection is healthy. I've never seen your writing as navel-gazing. That said, I read very few blogs these days since everyone seems to have gone the way of product schilling and monetizing with ads. Yours is one I love because it's none of that. I feel like I am having a conversation with a friend. Of course, because you are my friend, I understand where you are coming from and the need to feel good about this space. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI get it. Sure, take time to examine your motives, your goals - I personally think expression/processing/working through thoughts & experiences and a bit of community support/whatever are all totally valid motivations. But yes, the ego is seductive and tricky. But also, the mind can work itself into all kinds of knots. Don't worry too much about it :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading through your personal thoughts and reflections! Your thoughts and explanations actually make me want to get more involved in yoga to help my mind&body physically and spiritually! I have never thought of it as egotistical! If you continue to write I will continue to read. At some point... I would love to chat with you about the concept of 'Power Yoga' and if that is truly really a 'Yoga'? hugs! ~Beth
