Something new.

Today I get to study with Sue (after an amazing inversion class last night ~ this press up thing is really happening ~ tip ~ move the strap from your forearms to just above your elbows) and then begin my first month of personal Muay Thai training!

This is new ~ and I'm really really excited! I will check back and let you know how it goes.

Has anyone ever studied any martial arts?????

  1. I took karate in college for credit as gym, which was awesome. also how I was first introduced to yoga, lol - hooray for nontraditional PE classes! Then pre-kids for a couple years I did a lot of kickboxing and a little bit of muay thai at a local martial arts place. I loved it, really loved it...except the sparring part. I preferred my opponent to be a hanging bag :) I ended up letting that go when the ownership of the place changed and then the vibe along with it :-/ have fun!!

  2. YES! I didn't expect the sparring aspect of the practice! Like dancing (which doesn't come naturally to me) the whole 1-2 Jab 3-4 punch 1-2 shield then step and hook, 1-2 shield, then step and uppercut very very basic beginner part of it is HARD for me! I loved it though and will continue with my month (I won a free month of personal training through a drawing at Namas Day). They also have yoga there so I'm eager to check that out too :)
