The scale

My weight is: STRONG. Muscle is heavy!

Are you hung up on a number?

Don't be. It's ok. Stay off of the scale!

  1. I love this one! While I am not a slave to the scale, I have to work hard not to be. Having lost an almost embarrassing amount of weight, with more to go, the scale is an important tool that helps me mark my progress. But it isn't the only tool. My clothes fit better. I am stronger. I can run faster. I can play with my kids longer. I am happier. And isn't that all that really matters?

  2. So true! The number on the scale does not define who we are. It is so easy for women to become slaves to the number, forgetting that our body types are all different and some of us have more muscle than others. I've been guilty of it myself.

  3. I haven't owned a bathroom scale since the one my parents had in my childhood home. It's very freeing.

  4. Adrianne I could not agree more. And congrats on the weight loss ~ it is INSPIRING!!!! Jord we didn't have one for years, but then when Nate was losing weight we got one. I admit to climbing onto it, swollen and filled with all the fluids etc. and crying when I got home from the hospital after giving birth to Jake ~ thanks to the CS I weighed MORE that morning after giving birth to 9'2 of baby. It was dismal. After losing the baby weight, I swore that a scale would never make me cry again :)
